History

1996 – Cognizant of the burden of hospital emergency room visits for non-emergency problems from uninsured individuals, the Paoli Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Paoli Hospital Women’s Auxiliary set aside funds to serve as venture capital for the development of CVIM.

1998 – CVIM, the first community-based volunteer clinic of its kind in Southeastern Pennsylvania, was founded in Frazer.

2001 – CVIM consolidates its services into a converted and renovated warehouse in West Chester, where it remains today providing medical and dental services and a drug dispensary five days and one evening a week.

2009 – Founding President and CEO Helen Heidelbaugh retires, and the Board of Trustees names Maureen Tomoschuk as her successor.

Winter 2009 – The clinic undergoes an extensive expansion that adds 1,700 square feet including two exam rooms, more efficient work space for dental professionals, and private space for patient counseling.  The renovation lasted approximately three months with no interruption in patient services.

2012 – CVIM maintains seven dental operatories, ten medical exam rooms, and the Moran Family Conference Center for patient education and wellness programs in its 10,000 square foot facility.

2013 – CVIM celebrates its 15th year of providing healthcare, hope and healing to the working poor in Chester County. 15yrslogoCropped
2014 – CVIM secured its home by purchasing the building at 300 Lawrence Drive and expanded the clinic to provide additional clinical, administrative and educational space essential to high quality and personal care. CVM_1612
2015 – CVIM launched its Mobile Dental Program which will expand access to free dental services, with emphasis on hygiene exams and education to grow awareness of the services we offer to vulnerable communities and populations within Chester County. CVIM is providing our services to Surrey Services for Seniors and St. Rocco’s Center. CVIM Mobile Dental_1
