Community Volunteers in Medicine is currently in need of bilingual (English/Spanish) volunteers to help support volunteer healthcare professionals in providing the best care possible to patients.  Bilingual volunteers are needed for front desk support and medical interpreting.  Those who wish to work in interpreting should have a workable knowledge of both English and Spanish medical terminology.

Front office volunteers greet patients, schedule patient appointments, make patient reminder calls, and perform general office functions.  CVIM will provide the training for interested volunteers.  Volunteer commitment is generally one 3-4 hour shift every other week or filling in as needed.

Medical interpreter volunteers are responsible for interpreting medical visits for Spanish-speaking patients with English-speaking practitioners.  It is imperative these volunteers are proficient in medical terminology in both languages.  Volunteer commitment is generally one 3-4 hour shift every other week or filling in as needed.

Interested individuals should contact Marie Frey at mfrey@cvim.org.
