The CVIM family and local healthcare community recently lost a hero. The COVID-19 pandemic claimed one of our own. Kathy Flamm was a nurse practitioner who volunteered at CVIM for nearly 14 years. Those of you who were in the clinic on Monday or Wednesday evenings these past few years will certainly remember her. Kathy was a compassionate caregiver who loved working with our patients. She was an inspiration to patients, friends and fellow volunteers, serving as a role model for perseverance in the face of immense challenges. Most recently, Kathy worked in a long-term care facility and did not back away from the challenges presented there by this pernicious virus. Unfortunately, this was the obstacle she could not overcome. Kathy will be missed. We send our most sincere sympathies to her family. May Kathy’s legacy encourage all of us to fight on, together, in service to others.
