CVIM held a special Celebration of Volunteers on Tuesday, September 24 at beautiful Brushwood Stable.  Thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Betty Moran, Teva Pharmaceuticals and the Philadelphia Eagles, over 320 people gathered to honor CVIM volunteers and community partners for providing 15 years of healthcare to those most in need in Chester County.  Attendees walked the red carpet and enjoyed an evening filled with special guests and live entertainment provided by the Malarkey Brothers.

During the cocktail hour guests mingled and had pictures taken with Eagles Cheerleaders and Swoop.  Over 20 volunteers won raffle prizes donated by CVIM board members and the Eagles.  The official program began with a welcome by Maureen Tomoschuk, CVIM President and CEO and the viewing of CVIM’s new video.

CVIM warmly welcomed special guests Donna Faix, Corporate & Social Responsibility Program Manager at Teva Pharmaceuticals, and the evenings emcees Merrill Reese, the Voice of the Eagles and Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos who co-presented the CVIM Volunteer Awards for 5, 10 and 15 years of consecutive service.  Reese finished by saying that he felt Dick Vermeil’s quote “character people win” described CVIM.  With CVIM  volunteers donating 45,000 hours of time and talent and providing more than 28,000 patient visits last year, we agree whole heartedly!

The evening also included the presentation of an official Extension of Remarks by Congressman Jim Gerlach and special Citations presented during the program portion of the evening by Senator Andy Dinniman, and County Commissioners Ryan Costello and Kathi Cozzone.

Maureen closed the evening with a quote from Walt Disney, “You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality.”  She continued by saying, “CVIM, volunteers are our most precious resource that donate time, talent and treasure every day.  If not for you and our community partners CVIM would not be able to serve so many in need in Chester County.”

CVIM extends its deep appreciation to the following who donated services and in-kind gifts for our celebration: Murfee Aceto, The Artful Framer, Diego Calderin, The Malarkey Brothers Band, Mrs. J. Maxwell “Betty” Moran, Perry Pepper, Philadelphia Eagles, Glen Robinson – Exelon, Stacy Sempier, Maryann Toner, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Tuttle Marketing, and Visual Perceptions Photography.
