Medical & Behavioral Health

CVIM provides our low-income, uninsured neighbors access to high-quality, medical and dental care, medications, patient friendly treatments, and preventative educational services. CVIM is the healthcare safety net for qualified low-income workers and their families, who have nowhere else to turn for care. Patients from diverse cultures access cost-free care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive environment.

CVIM offers a comprehensive care model, where all services are offered and integrated at the same Healthcare Center located in the heart of Chester County. Primary care, specialty services, dental care, mental health treatment, medications, health education, and social services are all provided in a coordinated effort to treat the overall wellbeing of each patient.

Behavioral health services are an ever-growing need in our community. CVIM offers bilingual counseling services, as well as a team of volunteer psychiatrists and counselors available to care for patients with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and more.

When a patient’s condition or diagnosis reaches beyond CVIM’s in-house services, we partner with our local hospital systems and their Charity Care Programs for services such as laboratory tests, X-Rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, cancer treatment, and surgery.  Click Here to learn more about our Healthcare Partners.

Our Patient Stories

Hector - Click to Read

Hector is a 56-year-old gentlemen who lives and works in Exton, PA. Before coming to CVIM, it had been over a year since he had seen a doctor. He came to CVIM in April 2019 after hearing about us through a co-worker. He had been having some health symptoms such as urinary problems. He was seeking to get his cholesterol and blood sugar checked. He was then diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Hector worked with the team at CVIM to diagnose and treat his cancer through our Charity Care partnership with a local hospital system. He also frequently has appointments with Soledad, our bi-lingual behavioral health counselor. He is actively taking care of his mental health while receiving treatment for his physical health. Hector says, “CVIM has helped me a lot. I am extremely thankful for the team and all they have to done to diagnose and treat my cancer.”

Vernon - Click to Read

Vernon Taylor lives in Phoenixville, PA. He worked for many years for a pool service company, and was exposed to many cleaning chemicals over the years. This, combined with a long-time habit of smoking, has led to a COPD diagnosis, making breathing difficult. After his wife passed away about three years ago, Taylor was also diagnosed with depression. During this time, his health declined and he was not able to return to work. He unfortunately lost his employer health insurance and at 64 years old is just shy of the eligible age for Medicare. He turned to CVIM for care during this time. Taylor receives all of his medication free of charge, has been enrolled in Tobacco Dependence classes, and is managing his physical and mental health. When he turns 65, our Social Worker will assist him in applying for Medicare.
